Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the process of improving your site's ranking in search results. Unfortunately the factors search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo use to rank sites are kept secret and change frequently. The One Percent Rule states that only a tiny fraction of people within any online community actually create content. The other 99% of users consume or contribute to content, but do not create. A breadcrumb is a row of internal links at the top or bottom of the page that allows visitors to quickly navigate back to a previous section or the root page. Many breadcrumbs have the most general page (usually the root page) as the first, left-most link and list the more specific sections out to the right. Google regularly refreshes its search engine algorithms. These are called “Google updates.” These updates improve search results by gradually optimizing the specifications for website quality and relevance. At the same time, they counter web spam.

Can I Just Write Naturally and Rank High in Google?

As an owner or stakeholder in a website, you must take the time to discover content, evaluate that content, and implement a link to it on a webpage. Sound SEO strategies aren’t susceptible to the whims of Google and the other search engines and depend far less on them than might be assumed. Your analytic tools can be used to find the keywords people search for that lead them to your website. The majority of these will be the shorter keywords but you can also find long tail keywords as well. These long tail keywords will likely be relevant to your website in some way or at least an area of it but probably won’t actually be keywords you’ve actually targeted. For many businesses the goal is to get their business to position number 1 on Google, but did you know that there’s a new top spot on Google called position zero. You’ve probably noticed these results but maybe not understood them properly. Position zero is all about using featured snippets to give an informative answer to a user’s query. It’s not uncommon for the results that are further down the first page listings to be featured in position zero.

Minimize Duplicate Template Content

The goal shouldn’t be to generate links, it should be to generate buzz or discussion; to share knowledge or data or other insights that we know our audiences (and prospecive customers) will find valauble. In the era of internet, where approximately three billion people on this earth have access to the internet and approximately one billion websites are in existence and nothing is worst than decelerated loading website. Consequently, web users have become habitual to short attention spans and they switch to another website when the current website loads too slowly. Quality is always important when producing new content, but it’s the SEO that can boost your efforts of reaching a target audience. Dig through your customer communications to find additional, actively used keywords. Talk to your customer service people to find out what customers are asking about (in their words).

Links, links, links!

Google can’t depend on social media signals from platforms it doesn’t own and that are run by competitors like Facebook. Content simply refers to the text on your homepage, your blog posts, videos you’ve produced, and any podcasts you’ve published. Focus on producing the best content you can – or pay someone to create it for you! Make it compelling, detailed, substantive, accurate and entertaining. Trustworthy sites tend to link to other trusted sites, while spammy sites receive very few links from trusted sources. Gaz Hall, an SEO Expert from the UK, said: "Businesses should always remember that they can’t fool search engines. Google prefers organic links built by real people. Bombarding sites with the same anchor text won’t help you in any way. Too many hyperlinks can also be problematic, they should always be slightly different to avoid Google thinking your site is spam."

Onpage factors matter more than with Google

The reality is that, for many businesses, 10-20 high-quality links will lead to top rankings in short order – sustainable rankings will last for years. Your first question should be 'what are my keywords?' Excercise - take a sheet of paper and write down the words that you think are important and relevant to your site. There are many other items which can affect a website’s search ranking, including all of the following: keyword research and implementation, back links, link building, content, directory submission, competitor analysis, optimization both on and off of the website in question, and still more variables. Now, keyword stuffing or having specific phrases on the site is not enough to get your site ranked on the popular search engines. And, it’s also of no use to get links from irrelevant sites.
